12. N,N-DMT: Indra’s Net and the Holographic Principle

Yesterday (June 24, 2023) I had one of the most profound DMT experiences so far. For the first time it was clear to me I’ve landed in Indra’s Net, a Hindu/Buddhist metaphor for interbeing that corresponds to a holographic universe.

Apple has an interesting toroidal shape whose “biting off” may imply symmetry breaking and the mythological story of creation of material world.
Two hemispheres of the brain resemble both the shape of the apple and the holographic universe. After all, fractals exhibit self-similarity.

Hello and greetings!

As I am currently working on creating “The Good Annealing Manual“, I don’t have as much time to dedicate to my blog. However, today I will write a bit about some speculations that bind psychedelics, ancient cultures, the Music Theory of Consciousness, and the Holographic Principle. Before we get started, here’s a short overview of some facts about holography that you can easily skip:

Holography is a technique for recording and reconstructing light fields. A light field is generally the result of a light source scattered off objects. Holography can be thought of as somewhat similar to sound recording, whereby a sound field created by vibrating matter like musical instruments or vocal cords, is encoded in such a way that it can be reproduced later, without the presence of the original vibrating matter.

Comparison with photography

Holography may be better understood via an examination of its differences from ordinary photography:

  • A hologram represents a recording of information regarding the light that came from the original scene as scattered in a range of directions rather than from only one direction, as in a photograph. This allows the scene to be viewed from a range of different angles, as if it were still present.
  • A photograph can be recorded using normal light sources (sunlight or electric lighting) whereas a laser is required to record a hologram.
  • A lens is required in photography to record the image, whereas in holography, the light from the object is scattered directly onto the recording medium.
  • A holographic recording requires a second light beam (the reference beam) to be directed onto the recording medium.
  • A photograph can be viewed in a wide range of lighting conditions, whereas holograms can only be viewed with very specific forms of illumination.
  • When a photograph is cut in half, each piece shows half of the scene. When a hologram is cut in half, the whole scene can still be seen in each piece. This is because, whereas each point in a photograph only represents light scattered from a single point in the scene, each point on a holographic recording includes information about light scattered from every point in the scene. It can be thought of as viewing a street outside a house through a 120 cm × 120 cm (4 ft × 4 ft) window, then through a 60 cm × 120 cm (2 ft × 4 ft) window. One can see all of the same things through the smaller window (by moving the head to change the viewing angle), but the viewer can see more at once through the 120 cm (4 ft) window.
  • A photographic stereogram is a two-dimensional representation that can produce a three-dimensional effect but only from one point of view, whereas the reproduced viewing range of a hologram adds many more depth perception cues that were present in the original scene. These cues are recognized by the human brain and translated into the same perception of a three-dimensional image as when the original scene might have been viewed.
  • A photograph clearly maps out the light field of the original scene. The developed hologram’s surface consists of a very fine, seemingly random pattern, which appears to bear no relationship to the scene it recorded.

N,N-DMT and Landing in Indra’s Net

The first part of this post relates to my experience of Indra’s Net. What is Indra’s Net, anyway?

The metaphor of Indra’s Net originates from the Atharva Veda which likens the world to a net woven by the great deity Shakra or Indra. The net is infinite and spreads in all directions with no beginning or end.

At each node of the net is a jewel so arranged that every jewel reflects all the other jewels. No jewel exists by itself independently of the rest. Everything is related to everything else and nothing is isolated. Hologram (from the Greek holo, holistic) means “entire picture“.

Before hitting the pipe, I set the intention to observe the hyperspace and come back with some verbal anchors. I thought anchors would allow me to remember better and to describe geometry – how it morphs, which shapes I could recognize, the progression of colours, etc. It partially worked.

As soon as I landed, for the first time I had the impression that there was a sort of communication. As I like to think of it, it was my own intention reflecting itself in the phenomenal space, “bouncing off” as from a mirror. Usually on any psychedelics, I experience pure hyperspace in different geometric configurations, never any form of interaction, figures, eyes, heads and alike. It’s all figureless space existing as a colorful machinery that is all somehow me and it feels like an indescribably loving, peaceful and blissful rainbow parade. So this is N,N-DMT, but what about other experiences?

The most interesting observations I’ve gathered come from hallucinations on ketamine combined with somango. Multiple times I was left with the impression of “peeking into chambers where light lives“. Infinite space of self-reflecting lenses where the light is hiding (look at descriptions of “The Hidden Light” related to “Keter” (crown) in Jewish mysticism).

It also seems like if I add energy (by for example remembering the feeling and the power of love), and in a weird sense have the right angle and focus of inner looking, I get to see more of them – light creatures that are embedded in the darkness and shine only under specific circumstances (when you shine over them with proper frequency like the effect in Quantum Field Theory?).

It feels like I’m peeking somewhere where I shouldn’t, but there’s also the feeling that these light beings allow me to do this. Kind of like being “God’s eye”, if you will, having an overview over an “alien” (some unfamiliar, post-biological) world that is always there, only we can’t see it.

The light creatures that appear upon focusing my attention on any point in the inner-darkness (usually under the influence of ketamine) are mostly neon red, green, and blue, maybe other rainbow colors, but less frequently. That could be interesting from the perspective of holography and plasma physics, but that’s a whole other story, so more about that next time.

As a big fan of the concept of the Ruliad, I tend to think that in fact everything that can happen has already happened, only not in our specific timeline i.e. perspective, but according to the Holographic Principle, is contained as information in the universe. In that sense, the most advanced possible creatures that have transcended biological life could also be in a kind of communication with us simply by sharing the same physical space, but not necessarily same dimensions. This opinion (or a belief, if you will) that I hold is currently generally irrelevant as we don’t have the means to communicate something back, but I believe (1) DMT can unlock this potential, and (2) that love plays a crucial role as it is a highly harmonized hyperdimensional feeling that helps the propagation of energy flow. Kind of like a superconductor.

During the trip, the DMT phenomenal space showed me a vague impression of an Indian woman responding to my intention. This shape was „telling me“ (non-verbally, dreamlike understanding) how utterly ridiculous my intention was. This interaction went like:

Look at this. Just look. How could you even think you would understand?

Luckily, I’ve managed to maintain awareness and I could respond to this with absolute understanding, surrender, and acceptance. The woman blended back with the hyperspace. Her whole shape seemed as a local manifestation of the world-sheet in such a form that is suitable for me as a human being to comprehend. What I mean by this is:

You see what you can see, and you don’t see what you can’t see. The verb “to see” can be replaced by “perceive”, “comprehend”, or even “remember”. This can be applied to our daily lives.

The DMT world-sheet looked homogenous, consisting of self-reflecting white, silver, purple and pink jewels in a centerless space twirling and expanding into infinity. When I realized what I’m looking at, I remembered that this matches the description of Indra’s Net.

I tried to generate an image that would resemble the visual experience:

At some point, I thought I saw another vague creature-like shape moving in a strange posture with bent knees and one hand behind the head. The creature was floating and staring back at me. It reminded me of ancient art, looking something like this:

A friend was next to me, this time not joining the 2nd round. I told her I’d try to send her a feeling or a message while tripping, just for fun. During the trip I remembered this intention and it became very clear I don’t have a sufficient amount of control over my attention in order to follow through with this plan. So I continued to be carried by the will of the hyperspace.

As for the bodily effects, the trip was followed by an intense, pleasant and warm (maybe even hot) physical feeling of being contracted in a ball of energy behind my neck/head. If I had to locate it, I would say it felt like the energy from my brainstem was sucked out above me and “I” was „contracted“ in there. Some friends of mine mentioned Sahasrara, the Crown Chakra after I described them my experience, but I don’t know that much about them.

That feeling of hot energetic containment reminds me of kittens being held by their scruff which is known to activate a reflex in which a body goes totally limp when picked up. I felt like there was no agency over my body because in some sense, I was not in it, but behind my head.

After the trip I was left wondering how this might potentially work with human hybernation which was briefly discussed in an interview between Ruben Laukkonen, Shinzen Young, Delson Armstrong and Chelsey Fasano.

I went to bed with a feeling that all tension from my muscles was completely gone, which corrensponds nicely to Michael Johnson‘s idea of all tension we experience embedded in our smooth muscles, explained by vasocomputation. There was a blissful giggle on my face. The last thought before I fell asleep was how to smuggle this thing to Croatia to help reduce transgenerational depression in my family and friends. This should be a global project and it should start now.

Speculations

In a conversation between Graham Hancock and Mauro Biglino an interesting hypothesis was mentioned. So the new (to me, at least) hypothesis about the Biblical burning bush speaking to Moses suggests he was high on ayahuasca as that Middle Eastern area is rich with Mimosa Hostilis and Syrian Root. What if a highly intelligent, hyperdimensional entity curled up within Moses’ worldsheet “sent him a message” that later on got interpreted as a message from God? Wouldn’t it make sense that this was done across the world in that time as people were living from non-industrial unprocessed food provided by their local environment?

What if ancient civilizations cultivated psychedelic rituals in order to develop a form of communication with their “higher selves”, unreachable in our normal waking consciousness?

What if they were doing it ceremonialy in order to create a larger amount of energy within the field of consciousness?

What if they knew all along that by producing standing waves levitation is possible, and this is how they managed to build their magnificent structures?

What if this knowledge was forgotten and gradually overwritten by focusing on material goods, and this is why we are “species with amnesia”?

It sounds probable, but it also sounds probable that we might never know.
