between consciousness and gravity]
take a bit and colour it, make it yours.
so far the idea that binds consciousness to quantum gravity implies that the ancient, seemingly overly mystical view of ideas existing within an ocean holds some incredibly precise truth.
let’s look at how divergent fields behave. some scribbles:
- vectors – describing the direction of gravitational force; in the upper image is “a divergent field with vectors that move in time end up looking like fluid flow“
vector: “a quantity having direction as well as magnitude, especially as determining the position of one point in space relative to another”
divergence of a field indicates how much fluid does a point (x,y) generate. force of attraction VS repulsion.
example: divF(x,y) = -0.44
this is related to conformal cyclic cosmology by penrose. the point around which vectors are moving represents a black hole – depending whether it’s the side where fluid seems to flow in our out. the point is either a source or a sink. (image at the end of the post)
quote: “each vector in the field describes velocity of the fluid in that point – notice that when you do that the fluid behaves in a very strange nonphysical way. around some points, the fluid just seems to spring into existence from nothingness as if there’s some kind of source there.”
we can imagine the source and the sink situation again as black hole evaporation.
– regions where fluid spins clockwise: positive curl
– regions where fluid spins counterclockwise: negative curl
moving on to strings and frequencies.
we imagine a stream of phenomenal consciousness as a wave (or a vector). within the wave of consciousness, each qualia is a vibrating string.
a string, like any other part of nature, has a tendency towards evolution. it materializes itself in material forms (take a look at markov blankets, primordial soup and self-organization by karl friston) successively gaining self-organizing elegance and intelligence.
with time, sound waves become a way of communication, proto-music; organisms start naming things and shaping words. finally, we have what we know as the birth of music and language.
as a sidenote, in ancient greece, music is thought to have been “the art of the muses” (from Greek mousikē (technē) = art). alongside that, words like emotion, motivation and moving all have similar etymology and it is well known in neuroscientific circles that listening to music creates activity in the motor area of the brain. it is the movement of consciousness field and then the body.
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov: Recruitment of the motor system during music listening: An ALE meta-analysis of fMRI data [conclusion: ai machines can not and will not enjoy music as human and non-human animals do – gravitational law doesn’t allow it. (:-))]
if consciousness was not a wave, qualia itself would be senseless: without a stream of consciousness, qualia is just a possibility, a particle frozen in time: a quantum bit (qubit) in a superposition.
via consciousness (the force carrier?) we perceive a quark – fundamental constituent of matter – as having particular properties such like spin. if the quark was not observed, it would have stayed in a superposition, in a state of equilibrium. more so, quarks are subject to the pauli exclusion principle, which states that no two identical fermions can simultaneously occupy the same quantum state. this is not true for bozons, force carriers. in that case, it makes some sense to say that that what we call collective unconscious consists of bozons in superpositions that haven’t been a subject of wave function collapse.
“In quantum mechanics, wave function collapse occurs when a wave function—initially in a superposition of several eigenstates—reduces to a single eigenstate due to interaction with the external world.
Unlike elementary particles, which are zero-dimensional or point-like by definition, strings are one-dimensional extended entities. Researchers often have an interest in string theories because theories in which the fundamental entities are strings rather than point particles automatically have many properties that some physicists expect to hold in a fundamental theory of physics. Most notably, a theory of strings that evolve and interact according to the rules of quantum mechanics will automatically describe quantum gravity.” [wiki]
as another sidenote, it is possible to think that compatibility between consciousness and gravity may contribute to the journey towards unification in physics. so far, this solution that merges consciousness and gravity implies that the ancient, seemingly overly mystical view of ideas existing within an ocean holds some incredibly precise truth.
in a fractal based universe (that is, that what we are capable of perceiving and imagining) language through perception can provide only a finite number of words and concepts. this necessarily leads to existence of that which we cannot name, perceive nor imagine.
it is qualia that gives infinite quantity of quality to the naked bit. take a bit and colour it – make it yours.
semantic priming is a perfect example showing how our storyteller, the narrator in the first person perspective, doesn’t really understand why it makes decisions as it does. just because the storyteller didn’t include an event in their plot doesn’t mean that bodies, brains and nervous systems don’t experience language-deprived information about their environment. inherent information lies in the unconscious data in the brain that hasn’t yet been translated to language. only through language and thoughts can we step by step access that data, this is known as access consciousness.
taken into account the nature of time, i assume this argument would lead further to saying:
nothing happens when there is nothing to perceive it.
even if something exists somewhere in a form of matter, it has never been perceived by anything, therefore it does not exist in the collective information database of that what is real. in general, i agree with the statement that quantum interpretation is largely a grammatical investigation.
before I conclude with analogies to gravity, consciousness in a way is a distraction from a perfect state – that is as a state of equilibrium. it’s a storyteller telling the most-probable version of that what happens. that what happens is a wave function stored inside of the unconscious – unperceived everything that there is to be perceived, a timeless state of everything at once. - a question from the video above:
“what if these vectors describing gravitational force instead defined a fluid flow? what would that flow look like and what can the properties of that fluid tell us about original gravitational force?”
gravity – fundamental interaction which causes mutual attraction between all things with mass or energy” [wikipedia]
paragraph on the role of gravity will also be dedicated to a suggestion to why a machine can never be conscious in the same way as a biological organism can unless they are made out of water. there is importance in the fact that bodies are 60% water and that we have to use the restroom when we’re nervous. gravitational pull has to be felt through body containing water. it is not carbon buildings that stretch according to gravitational impact, but rather water surfaces.
additionally: here is a post written mostly from personal experience contributing to the idea about evolution of consciousness that gives rise to that what we describe as transcendence. in phenomenology, the “transcendent” is that which transcends our own consciousness: that which is objective rather than only a phenomenon of consciousness. infinite uniqueness of qualitative depth cannot be properly squashed into a binary code that first person perspective storyteller operates in, therefore some truths can only be felt through nonverbal vague representations manifesting themselves as feelings.
it is due to gravity that we are able to experience qualia in an instinctive way as we do. naturally, there is a high probability not to experience unusual, mystical, highly unlikely events on a daily basis. on the other hand, if there is too much dopamine in specific brain regions, people experience hallucinations. my take on that is that it is not the brain that creates a hallucination, but due to changes in dopamine, there is a higher chance to misinterpret sensory information and to experience something more of a psychotic “dream state” – unaligned with the general, average social agreement about what reality is. relative.
in the end: isn’t it discriminatory to take average neurochemical brain-situation and call it everyone’s reality?

next stop: penrose conformal cyclic cosmology
divergence field is created in relation to whether it’s the side of a black hole that acts as a source of fluid or as its sink (positive and negative divergence)
